Six people, including two 16-year-old minors were arrested on suspicion of beating and killing a young man in Galakanda area, Weligama, the police said.
Weligama headquarters police said that among those arrested are two brothers from the same family.
A senior police officer had informed Lankadeepa that the attack was carried out after an argument with a woman at the roadside escalated. The victim had been reportedly intoxicated after attending a party with a group of friends.
According to the police, a group of people including the two sons of the woman had later brutally assaulted the young man after she complained.
The police added that her two sons were among those arrested. The six suspects are aged 16, 21, 23 and 32 years old. (NewsWire)
