Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) leader, MP Mano Ganesan has confirmed that he had initiated a discussion to bring the United National Party and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya under one umbrella.
Media reports surfaced earlier this week that Mano Ganesan and Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) leader Rauff Hakeem had initiated talks with President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa in an effort to unite the UNP and the SJB.
Even though Mano Ganesan confirmed the development via a tweet today, he reiterated that the subject of Premiership never popped-up in these discussions.
He further said that they suspended the initiative as the SJB failed to respond. (NewsWire)
