A 15-year-old student of a school in Kandy has been injured after falling off a building at the school premises yesterday (09), it was reported.
The girl who is a grade 10 student of the school had allegedly jumped from the first floor of a building and has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Kandy General Hospital with injuries.
According to Mawbima, the Police said the incident had occurred at 11.30 am and the child had jumped from a height of 15 feet.
The schoolgirl is reportedly a prefect and a resident of the Kalugamuwa area in Katugasthota.
Hospital sources said that the child will undergo a CT Scan to ascertain injuries to the head after which further treatment will be provided.
The Katugasthota Police is conducting investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
