The Kandhaketiya Police has launched an investigation to apprehend a man who had attempted to sexually molest a 75-year-old woman.
The Police stated that the suspect had been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident reported last night.
The 51-year-old man had approached the woman under the pretext of talking after which he had attempted to molest her.
However, after being spotted by area residents, the man had fled the area.
The victim was initially admitted to the Meegahakiwula Hospital after which she was transferred to the Badulla District General Hospital. (NewsWire)
