A tuition master accused of having sexually molested 16 schoolgirls was arrested by officials of the Police Children & Women Bureau today (11).
According to Lankadeepa, the Police stated that the suspect was a 30-year-old resident of Kalutara North.
The Police stated that information on the incidents had been uncovered after video footage was found in the possession of the suspect.
The victims are to be identified by the Police Children & Women Bureau using the video footage.
The Police said investigations will be launched to ascertain if the tuition master who had conducted classes at a complex on Galle Road in Kalutara had also sexually molested children during private group classes held elsewhere.
The wife of the suspect is reported to have filed a complaint with the Kalutara North Police accusing the suspect of extra-marital affairs.
The Police said, thereafter, the woman had found video footage of the sexually abused children on his laptop after which she had informed the parents of the victims.
The suspect will be produced before Kalutara Magistrate’s Court. (NewsWire)
