The domestic help of a Sri Lankan female teledrama producer has died in Police custody after being arrested over a complaint related to theft.
According to Daily News, the teledrama producer, who is a resident of Rajagiriya, had filed a complaint with the Welikada Police on theft at her house on May 11.
Following the complaint, her female domestic help, a 42-year-old woman from Demodara, Badulla, was arrested and interrogated by the Police.
According to the Police, the suspect was arrested and interrogated at the Police Station during which she had suddenly fallen ill, showing signs of difficulty in breathing.
The woman had been immediately admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, however, she had died at the hospital. (NewsWire)
