The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe heat in four provinces of Sri Lanka today.
Accordingly, the heat index, the temperature felt on the human body is expected to increase up to a ‘Caution’ level at some places in Northern, North-Central, North-western and Eastern provinces.
The heat index is also expected to increase up to a ‘Caution’ level at some places in the Monaragala and Hambanthota districts.
Stating that fatigue is possible with prolonged exposure and activity, the Met Department warned that continuing activity can result in heat cramps. (NewsWire)
