Venerable Rajangane Saddharathana Thera who was arrested for making statements that could disrupt religious harmony has been remanded.
The Fort Magistrate’s Court today remanded Venerable Rajangane Saddharathana Thera until June 07, 2023.
The Police arrested Venerable Rajangane Saddharathana Thera in Anuradhapura early this morning.
The Venerable Thera was arrested based on a complaint filed by a fellow monk, Venerable Pahiyangala Ananda Sagara Thera.
The complaint accuses Venerable Rajangane Saddharathana Thera of having made statements that could disrupt religious harmony and are disrespectful to Buddhism. (NewsWire)
