Sri Lanka’s Energy Minister, Kanchana Wijesekara, has assured the public that there are sufficient fuel stocks available amidst concerns of shortages.
The current scarcity is primarily due to certain fuel station owners delaying their orders in anticipation of a potential reduction in fuel prices. In response, the minister has mandated fuel dealers to maintain a minimum stock level of 50% and has called for a review of licenses for stations failing to comply.
