Three suspects have been arrested along with a gem stone worth about Rs. 350 million and a wristwatch worth about Rs. 2.7 million, which were stolen from a businessman in Godagama, Meegoda, the police said.
Police have also recovered 20.3 grams of heroin in possession of the main suspect who was arrested. The suspect is known as ‘Charter Chooty’ is a resident of Hettiyawatta area of Megoda who is said to be a heavily addicted to heroin and has a habit of breaking into houses and stealing.
Among the other arrested suspects are a businessman from Boralasgamuwa who he agreed to sell the gem and a person from Eheleiyagoda area who agreed to change the shape of the gem, the police said. (NewsWire)
