The Sri Lanka Police arrested 35 wanted suspects in a special operation conducted in the Borella Police Division yesterday (11).
The Police stated that among the arrested group, 12 were apprehended for the possession of illegal substances, such as Ice, heroin and Cannabis.
Two suspects were arrested for the possession of swords, while two other suspects were those against whom open warrants had been issued by the court. A total of 19 suspects were arrested on suspicion.
The Police stated that Rs. 2,675,440 earned via drug peddling was recovered from one suspect arrested for the possession of heroin.
Meanwhile, Rs. 215,000 was recovered from one suspect arrested for the possession of Ice.
The Police added that the suspects will be produced before the Magistrate’s Courts of Hulftsdorp and Maligakanda. (NewsWire)
