A 23-year-old student of Sri Jayawardenapura University has been found dead in a suspicious manner, it was reported.
According to Ada Derana, the Police stated that the student was residing at the university hostel located in the Katuwawala area in Maharagama.
The body of the student (male) was found hanging on the first floor of the hostel by fellow students by the time he was reported dead.
The Police further stated a total of 64 students reside in the university’s hostel. The deceased has been identified as a 23-year-old resident of Kayts, Jaffna.
The Police stated that the relatives of the student have raised suspicion over his death due to which a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
The Maharagama Police is conducting investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
