Over 16 kilos of heroin valued at nearly Rs. 650 million has been seized from a ship that had arrived from Pakistan, Sri Lanka Customs stated.
According to Sri Lanka Customs, 16.193 kilos of heroin were found in the cooling chambers during an examination of a container on the ship.
The stock of heroin was found based on a tip-off received by the Customs Unit at the Port.
Sri Lanka Customs stated that following the completion of internal investigations the suspects along with the contraband will be handed over to the Police Narcotic Bureau. (NewsWire)
