The fifth edition of the men’s Emerging Asia Cup will be played in Sri Lanka from July 13-July 23. Eight Asian teams will feature in the tournament, with seven of them being ‘A’ teams of their respective countries
The eight teams are divided into two groups of four each. India are placed in Group A alongside Nepal, UAE A, and Pakistan A. This is how the groups are divided:
Group A: India A, Pakistan A, UAE A, Nepal
Group B: Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A, Oman A
Sri Lank have not yet named the A team squad for the tournament but it’s reported several internationals including Avishka Fernando, Ashen Bandara, Chamika Karunaratne and Matheesha Pathirana will play the tournament.
India A team for tournament will be led by the 2022 under-19 World Cup winning captain Yash Dhull, Sai Sudharsan who impressed during this year’s Indian Premier League with Gujarat Titans was also included in the team.
