The Colombo District Court has issued an injunction order that prohibits Silumina Newspaper, www.silumina.lk, and all associated social media accounts from publishing any content related to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and its officials.
The injunction order was issued after considering a complaint filed by the President and Vice President of SLC against a journalist from Silumina Newspaper and Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL). The complaint demanded a compensation amount of Rs. 1 billion.
As a result, the court has temporarily restrained the media institution mentioned above from publishing any content that defames SLC or its executives. This restriction will remain in place until the hearing of the complaint is concluded. (NewsWire)
