A Police Sergeant was reported dead in an accident at a carnival conducted at the Kantale Central Maha Vidyalaya grounds yesterday.
According to reports, the officer on duty at the site had died after a piece of ‘The Well of Death’ attraction at the carnival had fallen down trapping him underneath.
The Police Sergeant was pronounced dead after being admitted to the Kantale Base Hospital.
The deceased has been identified as a 47-year-old resident of Bathiyagama in Kanatale and a father of two. (NewsWire)
