A mother in Jaffna has accepted her late son’s degree certification which was awarded by the University of Jaffna to honour the student posthumously.
The awarding took place at the 37th General Convocation of the Jaffna University held on Thursday (July 20).
“The late Hashan Sagara Dissanayake, an undergraduate of the former Vavuniya Campus of the Jaffna University was admitted to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Computing with effect from September 26, 2022,” the Jaffna University announced on its social media platform.
Hashan Sagara Dissanayake, who is a resident of Medawachchiya is reported to have died in a road accident. (NewsWire)
