The Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday that Saudi Arabia will host Ukrainian peace talks on August 5 and 6, inviting Western nations as well as significant developing nations like India and Brazil.

According to diplomats participating in the discussions, the meeting would gather senior officials from up to 30 nations, including Indonesia, Egypt, Mexico, Chile, and Zambia, to Saudi Arabia on August 5 and 6.

Officials from Ukraine and Western nations expressed hope that the negotiations could result in international support for peace conditions that would benefit Ukraine.

The number of invited nations has not yet been determined, although those that participated in a comparable round of negotiations in Copenhagen in June are anticipated to do so again, the report said.

The US national security advisor Jake Sullivan is anticipated to attend, and attendance has already been confirmed by the UK, South Africa, Poland, and the EU.

The meetings will be held in Saudi Arabia, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy attended the Arab League summit in Jeddah in May.
