An individual has been killed after being stabbed by a three-wheeler driver in the Bodhirajapura area in Werahera, Boralesgamuwa last night.
According to the Police, the deceased has been identified as a 43-year-old resident of Bodhirajapura and a father of three.
Investigations have revealed that the victim had attended a phone call near Bodhirajapura Road, a few distance away from his house.
At the time, the three-wheeler driver is reported to have arrived at the location after which an argument between the two parties had escalated, resulting in the three-wheeler driver stabbing the victim with a knife.
The injured victim had been admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital in Kalubowila by relatives after which he succumbed to injuries two hours later.
The Police suspect that the murder may have taken place over an extramarital affair between the victim and the suspect’s wife.
The Boralesgamuwa Police has launched an investigation to apprehend the suspect. (NewsWire)
