Sri Lanka’s Tourism Ministry has devised several tourism promotion initiatives in anticipation of the forthcoming Asia Cup cricket tournament.
The Tourism Ministry expects a large number of tourist arrivals during the Asia Cup tournament, especially for the India vs Pakistan matches.
A discussion was held at the Tourism Ministry yesterday on the various promotional activities and tourism/ travel packages to be offered to visiting tourists during the Asia Cup.
Tourism Minister Harin Fernando, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) Chalaka Gajabahu, and representatives of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), including President Shammi Silva participated in the discussion.
Commenting on the measures taken in view of the Asia Cup, Tourism Minister Harin Fernando stated that the Government has extended its full support for the cricket tournament.
He further stated that the Tourism Ministry is in the process of arranging other related events to cater to the visiting tourists. (NewsWire)
