A 55-year-old suspect has been arrested for allegedly defrauding over Rs. 10 million from several people promising employment opportunities in European Countries.
Following 7 complaints received against the suspect, officers of Colombo Investigation Bureau have arrested the suspect, who’s a resident of Veyangoda.
Initial investigations have revealed that the suspect has been operating a foreign employment agency in Colombo 05 area and defrauded several individuals promising employment in countries such as England and Poland.
Investigations have further that the person has not obtained a registration certificate from the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment. Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau is conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
