President Ranil Wickremesinghe Visited the Yala National Park this morning (19) on an inspection tour. During his visit, the President instructed authorities to look into the possibility of enabling a system to purchase tickets online to visit the Yala National Park.
The President also took part in a program to fill water to the dried up water holes in the park due to the prevailing dry weather conditions.
Yala National Park is one of the oldest parks in Sri Lanka and a place where you can see the most number Sri Lankan leopards (Panthera pardus kotiya) within the least area of land. Due to this,many foreign tourists visit the Yala National Park.
United States Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chung and Minister or Tourism Harin Fernando also joined the President and the delegation in this visit (NewsWire)
