Showers are expected in a few areas of Sri Lanka today, while fair weather will prevail over most parts of the nation, the Department of Meteorology stated.
Accordingly, a few showers will occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Central and Uva provinces and in the Ampara, Batticaloa and Polonnaruwa districts during the evening or night.
Meanwhile, showers may occur in a few sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Matara via Galle.
Winds will be south-westerly and speed will be 25-35 kmph. Wind speed may increase up to 40-50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil, and from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanthurai.
