Sri Lanka Police have busted a firearm manufacturing workshop operated under the guise of a factory on Dunken Mawatha in the Kaleliya area in the Gampaha District.
The Pallewala Police on Tuesday (Aug. 29) apprehended a 62-year-old man and his 32-year-old son for manufacturing weapons, including firearms and ammunition, and selling or renting out the weapons.
The Police stated that investigations have revealed that the duo had sold locally manufactured firearms to several individuals.
Several materials used for the manufacture of firearms, including two mechanical parts, an air rifle, 2 kilos of lead, metal tubes, knives, and ammunition sheaths have been seized by the Police.
The Pallewala Police is conducting investigations to track other persons who had aided the business. (NewsWire)
