A State Minister of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) party has fired shots into the air using an official pistol while at the official accommodation provided to Parliamentarians in the Madiwala area, it was reported.
According to Lankadeepa, the Police stated investigations have revealed that the State Minister who was highly intoxicated had fired shots into the air from the balcony of his official residence.
The Police stated that this particular State Minister has been criticized by society for several controversial incidents in the recent past.
