Sri Lankan sprint sensation, Yupun Abeykoon, has announced his withdrawal from the much-anticipated Asian Games set to kick off in China on September 23, 2023.
This decision comes as a result of an injury Yupun sustained during his recent race, which has hindered his full recovery.
“I am truly devastated that I won’t be able to compete in the Asian Games this year,” said Yupun
Abeykoon. “I was looking forward to representing Sri Lanka on the international stage, but my injury has not healed as quickly as I had hoped. I believe it is in my best interest to focus on my recovery and come back stronger in the future.”
