The Education Minister, Susil Premajayantha, announced in Parliament today that the Commissioner General of Examinations will soon provide information whether this year’s Advanced Level Examinations will be postponed or not.
This statement came in response to a proposal made by SJB MP Rohini Kaviratne, who suggested postponing the A/L examinations to January of the following year.
MP Kaviratne proposed conducting the A/L Examinations from January 22nd to February 17th.
She also mentioned that the A/L results could be released by May of the following year, and next year’s A/L examinations could be held in October as usual.
In reply to MP Kaviratne, the Education Minister acknowledged the proposal’s merit but emphasized that the final decision lies with the Commissioner General of Examinations.
He stated his intention to request the Commissioner General to make an announcement promptly. (NewsWire)
