The Sports Minister, Roshan Ranasinghe, has once again written to the International Cricket Council (ICC) requesting a meeting with the ICC for the newly appointed International Sports Coordination Committee in Cricket, led by former Sri Lanka cricketer Sidath Wettimuny, former Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Upali Dharmadasa, and lawyer Rakitha Rajapakshe.
Previously, the ICC had categorically refused to meet this three-member committee, stating that they cannot do so without the endorsement of Sri Lanka Cricket. In response, the Sports Minister has clarified that the committee does not require the endorsement of Sri Lanka Cricket.
The primary purpose of the committee is to communicate with the ICC regarding the financial misconduct of Sri Lanka Cricket, as highlighted by the attorney general department of Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
