Except for the Northern and Eastern provinces, showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the other provinces of Sri Lanka after 02.00 p.m., the Department of Meteorology stated.
Fairly heavy showers of about 50 mm are likely at some places in the Sabaragamuwa province and in the Galle, Matara and Kalutara districts.
Misty conditions can be expected in the morning at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Galle via Colombo, particularly in the afternoon or night.
Winds will be Southeasterly or variable in the direction in the sea areas around the island and wind speed will be 20-30 kmph.
The sea areas around the island will be slight. Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers. (NewsWire)
