The provincial-level trade union action commenced by the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) will continue for the second consecutive day today.
Today’s 24-hour strike action will be carried out covering all state hospitals in the Northern Province.
The GMOA launched its provincial-level trade union action in the Uva Province yesterday.
The strike action has been scheduled to be launched in the North Western Province on November 06 and in the Sabaragamuwa Province on November 07.
The trade union action has been launched over several issues, including the government’s failure to retain doctors in the country in a bid to mitigate the collapse of the health system. (NewsWire)
