Two murders have been reported in separate areas within the 24 hours ending at 06.00 am today.
A 27-year-old resident of Badalkumbura has been died after being attacked with a sharp object last night.
The Police stated that the victim who is a three-wheeler driver had been stabbed by another person over a family dispute.
The 21-year-old suspect had fled the area, while the Badalkumbura Police is conducting investigations.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old woman has been found dead with a slit throat in the Urupola area in Krindiwela yesterday.
The Police said the woman was reportedly residing with her child and parents, while her husband was employed overseas.
Investigations have revealed that she had been murdered while alone at home.
The cause of the murder has not been ascertained yet and the suspect is yet to be identified. The Kirindiwela Police is conducting investigations. (NewsWire)
