The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for strong winds and rough seas for Multi-day boats in the Central Bay of Bengal Sea areas.
The department said the Deep Depression over the West-central Bay of Bengal is located near latitude 17.4°N and longitude 87.0°E today (Nov 16).
It is likely to move north-northwestwards and intensify into a Cyclonic storm and cross the Bangladesh coast in the early hours of November 18, 2023.
Accordingly, wind speed will be 50-60 kmph and can increase up to 70-80 kmph in sea areas between 16N – 22N and between 85E – 95E.
Heavy showers or thundershowers and rough or very rough seas can also be expected in the above-mentioned sea areas. (NewsWire)
