A Corporal of the Sri Lanka Army has been apprehended for allegedly sexually molesting an underage child, it was reported.
According to Lankadeepa, the Morandhuduwa Police said the man had sexually molested an 08-year-old girl.
The Corporal is attached to the Sri Lanka Army’s Engineer Services Regiment at Nalluruwa, Panadura and is reportedly on leave from 15- 21 November during which time he has molested the underage girl.
The mother of the victim had filed a complaint claiming that the Corporal had sexually molested her child after which he had been arrested. The child has been admitted to the Kalutara Teaching Hospital for a medical examination.
The suspect will be produced before the Panadura Magistrate’s Court. (NewsWire)
