The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for heavy rain and severe lightning in several parts of Sri Lanka effective until 11.00 pm today (Nov 22).
Accordingly, thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and North-western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Fairly heavy showers above 100 mm are likely in some places, while there may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity. (NewsWire)
