Quazi judge arrested by Bribery Commission

A judge of the Colombo North Quazi Court has been apprehended while taking a bribe of Rs. 7,500 at the court premises, it was reported.

According to Lankadeepa, the judge was apprehended by officials from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption. 

The judge was arrested based on a complaint filed with the Bribery Commission by a resident of Mawanella.

The suspect had solicited a bribe of Rs. 7,500 to issue the divorce papers to the complainant, affirming his legal separation from his second wife. 

The Judge was arrested while accepting the bribe at the Colombo North Quazi Court located in Dematagoda. (NewsWire)
