Another 1,182 suspects have been apprehended during the islandwide special operation ‘Yukthiya’ carried out by the Police Special Task Force.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, the arrests were made during the 24 hours ending at 12.30 am today (Jan 03).
The Police had also recovered 287g of heroin, 246g of ICE, 5.4 kilos of cannabis, and 119 narcotic pills during the raid.
Over 22,500 suspects have been arrested so far since the launch of the ‘Yukthiya’ special operation on December 17, 2023.
The Police STF has conducted over 21,700 raids during the operation launched to curtail drug and underworld-related activities in Sri Lanka.
The Police have also recovered a large amount of narcotics and have also seized several illegally acquired assets, including properties and vehicles, during the multiple raids. (NewsWire)
