Another crossover has been reported for 2024, with former United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Dayasritha Tissera joining the Opposition, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB).
Former MP Dayasritha Tissera met Opposition and SJB Leader MP Sajith Premadasa, voicing support for the SJB’s programme.
In return, MP Premadasa has appointed Dayasritha Tissera as the Organizer of the Nattandiya electoral district.
Dayasritha Tissera has served in several Cabinet portfolios under previous governments.
Earlier this week, Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) MP Shan Wijayalal de Silva also joined the SJB, becoming the first crossover for 2024.
It is expected that the government may conduct the Presidential or Parliamentary elections this year. (NewsWire)
