President Ranil Wickremesinghe has emphasised the importance of recognising the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem as part of the State of Palestine.
The President highlighted the need to align with the United Nations (UN) Resolutions and the Declaration of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
He further proposed that there should be no alteration in the ethnic composition of Gaza and advocated for the establishment of the State of Palestine within five years.
President Wickremesinghe made the remarks while addressing the 19th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Uganda.
His comments come as at least 24,620 people have been killed and 61,830 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023. (NewsWire)
