Thai PM’s Sri Lanka visit shortened to 1 day

The Government has announced that the official visit of Prime Minister of Thailand Srettha Thavisin to the country will be limited to one day, due to a sudden illness.

Thai prime minister was scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka for a 2-day official visit, also participate in the 76th Independence Day celebrations as the chief guest.

However, the state minister of home affairs Ashoka Priyantha has started that the Prime Minister of Thailand will take part in the Independence Day celebrations for a short period of around 1 hour as a mark of respect for the invitation extended by President Ranil Wickremesinghe. (NewsWire)
