Several members of the main opposition, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) are set to join forces with President Ranil Wickremesinghe, according to United National Party (UNP) General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Range Bandara said the SJB members will join President Ranil Wickremesinghe when the President kicks off his election campaign for presidency on March 10 this year.
Stating that negotiations have already commenced between both parties, Range Bandara said they will extend their support when the President launches his election campaign organized in Kuliyapitiya on March 10.
The UNP General Secretary further revealed that there were sufficient funds to hold the Presidential Election in October this year.
He added that President Ranil Wickremesinghe will contest as an independent candidate in the Presidential election. (NewsWire)
