The Police fired water cannons to disperse a protest staged by the Inter-University Students Federation (IUSF) in Colombo today.
The Police had resorted to action in a bid to disperse the protesters near Borella Junction.
It is reported that two protesters, including the Convenor of the IUSF Madushan Chandrajith, have been arrested.
The protest was staged based on several demands, including against the alleged move to privatise education. (NewsWire)
