Thai Airways to resume operations to Sri Lanka in April

Thai Airways, the flag carrier airline of Thailand, will recommence scheduled flight operations to Sri Lanka from April.

Issuing a statement, the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) said Thai Airways will recommence its operations to BIA with daily flights, starting from April 01, 2024. 

Passengers will be able to experience the ultimate in travel with Thai Airways and explore over 60 cities in 28 countries from Bangkok. 

MAC Holdings Pvt. Limited will be the General Sales Agent that represents the airline in Sri Lanka and Maldives. 

Thai Airways operates to key destinations in Europe, Australia, Asia, and Thailand.

The BIA said the recommencement will incredibly boost the tourism industry which has shown significant growth in the first two months of 2024 welcoming 207,182 and 218,350 passengers (by air) in January and February respectively.

According to the BIA, the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Pvt.) Limited is delighted to welcome the airline to its main gateway.

By February 2024 Sri Lanka airports have served 36 esteemed airlines that operated scheduled international operations solidifying its pivotal role in the aviation industry. (NewsWire)
