Chief Mechanical Engineering Department of Sri Lanka Railways has built a custom railway carriage consisting of an open observation deck.
The latest carriage, totally built locally, will be added to the Upcountry railway service in the near future, enabling local and foreign tourists to enjoy the scenery of the hill country.
The new observation deck has been built converting an out of service Romanian carriage, at a cost of Rs. 30 million. (NewsWire)
