Venerable Dr. Muruththettuwe Ananda Nayaka Thera, the Chief Sanganayaka of Western Province and the chief incumbent of Abhayarama, has slammed former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa while addressing a public event recently.
Speaker in the presence of the former President’s brother, Mahinda Rajapaksa, the monk said Gotabaya Rajapaksa who had been elected with a majority vote had betrayed the people and faced downfall.
Venerable Dr. Muruththettuwe Ananda Nayaka Thero further said that the former President did not have administrative or governing skills, adding that he had also surrounded himself with people beneficial to him.
“We informed him on multiple occasions that he was travelling on the wrong path. This is why he faced a downfall. His lack of skills to govern is the reason why we are facing this situation today,” the Thera added. (NewsWire)
