W. K. D. Wijerathne has been appointed as the Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The appointment has been made by President Ranil Wickremesinghe in accordance with the provisions of the new Anti-Corruption Act.
Wijerathne is the latest appointment to be made to Sri Lanka’s Bribery Commission.
In December 2023, the President made three appointments to the Bribery Commission.
Justice W. M. N. P. Iddawala was appointed as the Chairman of the Bribery Commission, while Chethiya Goonesekera and K. Bernard Rajapakse were appointed as the other members of the Commission.
