Showers are expected in some parts of Sri Lanka today, mostly in the afternoon or evening, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western and Southern provinces after 2.00 p.m.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province during the afternoon or night.
Fairly heavy showers of about 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle during the afternoon or night.
Winds will be variable and wind speed will be 15-25 kmph. Sea areas around the island will be slight. Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers. (NewsWire)
