A 17-year-old girl has been injured after being shot in the Girithale area in Minneriya last night.
According to the Police, the girl had sustained injuries to her neck in the shooting.
Investigations have revealed that the incident had occurred when the girl along with her family had visited the house of a relative.
The injured girl, who is a resident of Girithale, is undergoing treatment at the Polonnaruwa Hospital.
It is yet to be found out who had carried out the shooting, while the Minneriya Police has launched investigations into the incident. (Newswire)
