Opposition Leader pays last respects to late UNP politician Palitha Thewarapperuma

Opposition Leader MP Sajith Premadasa paid his last respects to the late former UNP Parliamentarian Palitha Thewarapperuma at the latter’s residence in Mathugama. 

MP Premadasa met with family members of the late politician after having paid his last respects today.

Speaking to the media thereafter, MP Sajith Premadasa said Thewarapperuma was a politician who had raised his voice for the ordinary citizen.

“He was a person who stood for the people during their sorrows and difficulties. He is a hero and representative of the ordinary citizen,” the MP added.  

Palitha Thewarapperuma passed away on Tuesday (Apr 16) after being electrocuted while working in his estate. He was 64 years old at the time of his demise. 

The final rites of the late former UNP Parliamentarian are to be held at his residence in Yatadholawatte, Mathugama today.

The late politician will be laid to rest at the grave that he built at his residence while he was alive. (Newswire)
