Two Police officials are under interrogation for allegedly maintaining links with drug dealers, according to Sri Lanka Police.

A Sub Inspector of the Mawathagama Police and a Sergeant of the Doretiyawa Police were arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) yesterday over the allegations.

The Police said the two Police officials were arrested on the instructions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon and were detained for interrogations.

It is reported that the arrests come after a suspect who was arrested and held for drug trafficking by the Mawathagama Police had disclosed information on links with the two Police officials. (Newswire)
