It is reported that the plantation workers have planned to start a strike from tomorrow (22) demanding an increase in their daily wages.
Nuwara Eliya District MP Palani Digambaram said that the Tamil Progressive Alliance will fully support the strike action.
He mentioned that the strike is in protest against the refusal of the plantation companies to agree to the payment of that salary even though the President has instructed the tea plantation companies to increase the daily wages to Rs 1,700. (NewsWire)
